Welcome to the Alumni Club Web Site. Make sure you register! We hope to see you at our upcoming event in February!

- Rockville:
- Alexandria:
Our first meeting of the new year will be held on February 27th 2002 at 6:30pm in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia at a place called Murphy's Grand Irish Pub (address: 713 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314). The phone number for Murphy's: (703) 548-1717. The agenda for the evening is to simply have a good time while everyone continues to become acquainted, and to set a date and time for the next meeting. We're still focusing on expanding the membership of the club at this point, so try to bring along any other Phi Tau's you know who live in the area. We'll be meeting upstairs if possible. The stairs are directly in front of you as you enter the Pub.

BO
Beta Omicron Chapter
University of Maryland
College Park, Maryland
Chartered as Phi Kappa Tau, March 14, 1950
A Phi Kapa Tau colony was first formed at Maryland in 1949 and was granted a charter on
March 14, 1950, in ceremonies attended by National President Roland Maxwell and Founder
Taylor A. Borradaile.
A home that would last the chapter for many years was purchased in the late 1960s through the
efforts of C. Ricardo Hamilton. The chapter closed in the early 1970s and restarted in 1974 under the
leadership of Greg Hollen, who would join the fraternity staff and then be elected to the
National Council and vice presidency [and go on to become President].
The chapter closed once again in 1986, and in the fall of 1987, efforts to recolonize were begun. It
took until March 27, 1993, for the charter to be granted to the colony. The old house was reclaimed in 1993
and in the fall of 1995, the chapter moved to a much better home at 5 Fraternity Row on the College
Park campus. --"A History of Phi Kappa Tau" by Charles T. Ball
